Reclamation & Reparing with Hard chrome plating Roller
Since 2009, Veer Industries started reclamation /refurbishment of rolls and components of steel manufacturing plants. Rolls reclamation/refurbishment include cylindrical grinding, stress relieving, Thermal Spray Coating (Tungsten Carbide coating), hard chrome Plating and mirror finishing / super Finishing and Matt Finishing processes. Over the years our surface engineering / surface modification services have covered rolls operating in all lines of Cold Rolling Mill, Hot Rolling Mill & Pellet plants. We have so far refurbished more than 1250 steel mill rolls.
We do cylindrical grinding with precision roll grinders. Roll surfaces which have damaged due to various industrial wear factors are reground by precision roll grinders to restore original camber, crown or taper roll profiles.
Thermal Spray Coating (Tungsten carbide coating)
Thermal Spray coating using HVOF coating systems used to do Tungsten Carbide / special alloy grade coating on roll surfaces. We apply above using state of art workshop.
Hard Chrome Plating
Hard Chrome plating process is an electrolytic method / Deeping Method of depositing Chrome for engineering applications, from a Chromic acid solution. Deposits can be applied from .25 – 1,000 microns thickness for a wide range of applications. The thinner deposits being used to substantially increase the life of components in wear applications or corrosive environments, and the thicker deposits being used for salvage and repair of worn, damaged or mis-machined components.
Hard Chrome is classed as a “COLD” or “DEEPING” process, the operating temperature of 50 – 60°C ensures no detrimental effects to the physical or mechanical properties of the base materials. Hard Chrome can be deposited successfully and advantageously onto most metallic substrate materials.
Special grinding media, lapping and super polishing machines are used by our expert technicians to provide appropriate profile and surface finish to rolls as per customer requirements.
